A Walk in the Woods - Unreal

 

A spooky adventure game where up to 4 players must roam a dark and dangerous forest in search of each other as they avoid the deadly gaze of an inhuman monster!

Lead Designer & Producer

This was a quite a challenging project due to the different mindsets present in the group and and the varying degrees of availability of team members. It was hard to keep everybody motivated as well as to have the design leadership shared with someone that had an opposite line of thought. 

 

On the other hand it was an amazing result for the given time frame and difficulty presented to our team. I was extremely happy to help develop these procedurally generated levels with the help of our engineers as well as assisting the process of developing a 3D audio system that was adaptable to different states of the game! I can't say how rewarding it was to actually achieve a 4 player online game with a lobby in such a short time. 

 

Throughout the development cycle of "A Walk in the Woods", I wore multiple hats as well as did other teammates. I was responsible for organizing tasks, sprints and and designing new features. Additionally, I organized and displayed the design documentation. Me and my co-producers were all responsible for presenting game updates every week through quick 15 minutes long pitch and organizing stand ups to manage team member tasks.

As the co-lead game designer, I was responsible for making the game design clear and concise while at the same time being on the same page as my other co-lead. We tried our best to assure every small detail felt right and looked stunning.
